“The Internship” Review

The comedy masters, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, from the movie "Wedding Crashers", are teamed up for the first time since the movie "Wedding Crashers" and coming back on the big screen in their new film "The Internship".

The story is about two middle-aged watch salesmen, Billy McMahon (Vince Vaughn) and Nick Campbell (Owen Wilson), who are left jobless after their employer goes out of business. Billy is googling for work places and came up with an idea to try to chase the perfect workplace from Google as an intern. He persuaded his friend Nick to it and after they got through the interview, they got themselves in the Google as interns at the Google Campus Valley, despite their lack of relevant experience. This duo has no knowledge of the IT area so they team up with the leftover nerds they could find. They will spend the summer competing in teams against other intelligent interns in a variety of challenges. They need to win the competitions in order to win the job on Google. Mr. Chetty, the head of the internship program, expresses his doubts about these two men's abilities. Also another intern, Graham, aggressively bullies Billy and Nick's team in order to win. The team members will teach valuable skills to each other - from taking a cup in a strip club and live a little to learning the secrets of coding HTML, C++, etc.

Okay, this movie made me laugh out loud. It was that good and that funny! The movie was cheerful and funny most of the time even the characters and the story are stereotypical and familiar from every high school movies you have ever seen. So the movie isn’t that clever but it’s funny. The progress of the movie goes on like a high school movie for adults; you can almost guess every characters ending right from the start and you know the ending will be happy. Even the movie is two hours long it didn't feel like boring - the "gaps" were filled out pretty nicely.

Normally, product placement is imbedded into a movie so cleverly that the viewer doesn't even notice it but this movie is built around product placement and this time with Google. Even the movie is a commercial movie for Google it is still funny. Who cares it's a commercial movie for Google if it's funny?

I myself like these kinds of movies, but I don't think this movie suits for people who take movies too seriously or expect too much out of them. In a nutshell; if you want to spend a nice evening with a funny movie or just clear your head with silly comedy, this is a movie I recommend you to watch.
